A simple step-by-step video on how to make an igloo by yourself. Filmed in northern Utah’s mountains on a solo February snowshoeing trip in 2014.
Ethan Schlussler in North Idaho, USA put together this 3-minute timelapse video of himself building a snow cave over 5 days. Love the Celtic inspired archways!
This is a photo of an “igloo” I built in 1995 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Actually, it was really just a pile of snow that I hollowed out and made into the shape of an igloo. It was actually pretty warm inside!
This was a pretty challenging snow structure to build! Since we didn’t have a big pile of snow, we had to make one. Here are the steps:
- Gather snow and load it into a form made out of plywood, or any other large flat objects like folding tables etc.
- The fun part is carving out the castle!
- The finished castle
- View of the snow castle at night!
Came across this great set of videos on Youtube… now that’s a snow fort!
